Free director ID verification checker
Enter a company number to see whether each director, LLP member and person with significant control has verified their identity with Companies House — and the date each one is due. Read live from the public register.
What this checker shows
Since 18 November 2025 every individual director, LLP member and person with significant control (PSC) must verify their identity with Companies House and supply a verification statement by a set date. Companies House now publishes, for every appointment, the date that statement is due and the date it was supplied. This tool reads those dates live for the company you enter.
What each status means
- Verified — Companies House has the person’s statement for this company.
- Due in N days — not yet supplied; the date is Companies House’s own.
- Window opens — a PSC whose 14-day window hasn’t started yet.
- Half done — an agent verified the person’s identity but the statement for this company hasn’t arrived.
- Estimated — Companies House hasn’t published a date yet, so we estimate it from the confirmation statement date.
- Overdue — the date has passed without a statement.
Who has to verify
Directors, LLP members and individual PSCs. Being a company secretary doesn’t on its own mean you have to verify: on 1 June 2026 Companies House took the line about people who file for a company off its list, and says checks for people who file will come later. Corporate directors are not covered yet. See who needs to verify and how your deadline is set.
Dormant companies too
Dormancy doesn’t exempt anyone. Our identity verification guide covers the whole process for dormant company directors.
Get reminded before each verification date
