Free Companies House audit
Get a free health score for any UK limited company. We check the public Companies House record for overdue filings, strike-off risk, and other red flags.
What this audit checks
We pull the live record from the Companies House public API and grade the company against the things that matter most to lenders, counterparties, and the registrar itself.
Filing status
- Are annual accounts overdue?
- Is the confirmation statement overdue? (Now grounds for strike-off under ECCTA.)
- When is the next filing due, and how close are we?
Company health
- Is the company in active status?
- Are there any insolvency entries on record?
- Are there registered charges against the company?
- Is there a SIC code declared?
Dormancy signal
We look at the type of the most recently filed accounts. If the company has been filing as dormant, we say so. If the last set was “small” or “micro-entity”, that tells you the company was treated as trading — which may or may not be what you expected.
What this audit does not check
We don’t pull director ID verification status (Companies House doesn’t expose it via the public API yet), and we don’t check PSC quality beyond what’s already on the public register. For a deeper check including ECCTA verification, you’ll need to be signed in at Companies House.
What to do with a low score
If your company has overdue filings or a confirmation statement past its due date, act fast — the late filing penalties compound and ECCTA strike-off proceedings can move quickly. See our guides on catching up on overdue dormant filings and what happens if Companies House strikes off your company.
