Your dormant company, answered: ask in plain English, get real answers

A built-in compliance assistant that answers questions about dormant company filing. Anyone can ask general questions for free. On a paid plan, answers are grounded in your actual Companies House data — your deadlines, your filing history, your next step — not generic text.

Grounded in your data, not guessing

On a paid plan, the assistant reads your actual company state — your accounting dates pulled from Companies House, your dormancy status, what you've already filed. It uses the same compliance logic that powers DormantFile's filing flows, so it won't invent a deadline or guess at your situation. When you ask “what do I file next?” it looks at your record and tells you.

What you can ask

Ask questions in plain English — about deadlines, filing types, dormancy rules, and what to do next.

When are my accounts due?
Am I actually dormant?
What do I need to file next?
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Can I file dormant accounts if I have a bounce-back loan?
How do I catch up on years of missed filings?

The assistant gives general guidance, not regulated tax or legal advice. For anything that needs a qualified professional, it will say so.

Free to ask, personalised on any paid plan

Two levels — so you can try it before you commit.

Free — general questions

On the free watchdog tier you can ask general dormant-filing questions — how the process works, what the rules are, what the deadlines mean. A good starting point to understand what applies to your company.

Paid plan — personalised answers

On any paid plan (Basic, Multi, or Agent), answers are grounded in your real company data. The assistant knows your accounts deadlines, what you've filed, and where you are in the process. It can also point you directly to the right screen in the app — no hunting around.

What it cannot do

Honest about the limits — because that's how trust works.

  • Read-only — it cannot file or pay for you

The assistant can answer questions and point you to the right flow. It cannot submit a filing or trigger a payment. You always confirm in the normal flow.

  • General guidance, not regulated advice

The assistant provides information to help you understand your obligations. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified accountant or tax adviser.

  • Your data stays yours

It reads your company data to give you grounded answers. That data is not used to train models or shared with third parties.

  • CT600 dates are always yours to enter

The assistant can explain how Corporation Tax works for dormant companies, but it does not calculate CT600 deadlines or tax owed — those are values you confirm.
