Running it from abroad

Run your dormant UK company from anywhere

Every paid plan. Other currencies are for dormant and micro-entity accounts.

You don't have to live in the UK to keep a dormant UK company. If it isn't trading, we file its accounts and nil tax return online, in your company's own currency where its accounts aren't in pounds, and send what you need to know to your inbox rather than a letterbox you can't reach.

Everything is filed online

Accounts go straight to Companies House and the nil tax return to HMRC, from wherever you are, with nothing to post. You'll need your company's authentication code and your HMRC sign-in.

Accounts in your company's own currency

If your last accounts or share capital on the Companies House register are in euros, US dollars or another currency, the dormant and micro-entity accounts we prepare are in that currency too: every figure, including the share capital. The tax return stays in pounds, as HMRC requires, and a nil return has nothing to convert.

Deadlines in your inbox

Accounts deadlines come by email, with a calendar feed for your phone, so knowing what's due doesn't depend on a letter reaching you.

The register, watched for you

We check the Companies House register every day and email you about changes to its directors, address, owners or name, wherever you are.

Letters, from a photo

Letters keep going to the registered office. Whoever opens them can send you a photo. Upload it and the letter decoder tells you what it says and what to do next.

Identity checks tracked

Directors have to verify their identity wherever they live. We show who at your company still has to, and by when. You do the check yourself with Companies House.

Questions, answered

Can I run a dormant UK company if I live abroad?
Yes. Directors don't have to live in the UK. The company still needs a UK registered office where post reaches someone acting for it, and its filings stay the same.
Can my accounts be in euros or dollars?
Yes. We prepare dormant and micro-entity accounts in your company's own currency, which we read from its last accounts or its statement of capital on the Companies House register. The tax return stays in pounds, as HMRC requires, and a nil return has nothing to convert.
Is filing in other currencies new?
Yes, it's new in November 2026. Companies House and HMRC decide on each filing themselves. If either refuses one, you'll see the reason, and your plan covers another attempt.
Do you provide a UK registered office?
No, we don't provide a registered office. Your company needs its own, in the part of the UK it's registered in. Companies House and HMRC will keep writing there, so make sure someone opens the post and tells you what's in it.
What about the codes that come by post?
Two come by post, normally to the registered office: the Companies House authentication code, and HMRC's Corporation Tax activation code, which can take up to 21 days if you live abroad. Ask for them well before a deadline.
