Does DormantFile support LLPs?

By DormantFile · Updated 22 August 2026

Yes — dormant LLPs, since August 2026. Add the LLP by name or number (they start OC, SO or NC), confirm it was dormant for the period, name the designated member approving the accounts, and we file the accounts to Companies House through the software filing channel, then watch the submission until it's accepted.

The flow knows it's an LLP rather than a company:

  • Members, not directors. The confirmation step and the signature on the balance sheet say designated member.
  • Self Assessment, not Corporation Tax. LLPs are tax-transparent, so there's no CT600 and no corporation tax UTR. The return an LLP can owe is the SA800 partnership return instead — due only for years HMRC issues a notice to file. Enable Self Assessment in the company's Settings and DormantFile files the nil SA800 when HMRC asks; you can also ask HMRC to withdraw the notice instead.
  • No share capital. The balance sheet shows members' interests, with the statutory dormant-LLP statements above the signature — there's no short LLP accounts form to fill in, so we build the accounts themselves.
  • The rest works as usual — deadlines pulled from Companies House, reminders before the accounts deadline, register and strike-off alerts, and filing records you can print.

Where we stop, so nobody pays for the wrong thing:

  • Only dormant LLPs. If the LLP traded in the period — or had real activity on its books — it needs a different set of accounts. Micro-entity and trading LLP accounts are out of our scope, and an accountant is the right route for those.
  • Accounts, plus the nil SA800. We file the LLP's dormant accounts, and — once Self Assessment is enabled in Settings — the nil SA800 for any year HMRC has issued a notice to file. We don't touch the members' personal tax positions, and we never calculate LLP tax dates: the notice HMRC sends sets the year, not us.
  • Nil balance sheets. An LLP with members' capital sitting on the books is an accountant's job, not ours.

Pricing is the same as for a company: plans start at £19/year and are priced by how many companies or LLPs you manage, not how many filings you make. If a filing is rejected we correct it and resubmit — the subscription covers every attempt.

LLPs aren't the only entity type we've added support for. Since August 2026 we also file for companies limited by guarantee — flat management and RTM companies, mainly — which work differently again: directors sign rather than a designated member, and the CT600 leg is fully available because a guarantee company (unlike an LLP) is within Corporation Tax scope.
