How do I get copies of documents filed at Companies House?

By DormantFile · Updated 24 July 2026

Every document your company has ever filed at Companies House is public and free to download — accounts, confirmation statements, incorporation papers, director changes, all of it.

The official route

Search for your company on the Companies House Find and update company information service, open the Filing history tab, and click View PDF next to any entry. No account or payment is needed. This is the authoritative copy — banks, lenders and solicitors will accept these PDFs as proof of filing.

A few older or paper-filed documents may have no downloadable image; for those, Companies House can supply copies on request (certified copies carry a small fee).

The faster route

If the company is on DormantFile, the Documents tab on your company page lists the same complete filing history — including everything filed before you joined — with one-click PDF downloads, fetched live from Companies House. No searching the register, no hunting through transaction lists, and it sits next to your filing receipts and deadlines.
